The Virginia Baptist Historical Gallery
The Virginia Baptist Historical Gallery exists to convey the story of Baptists in Virginia, with a strong emphasis on their role in securing religious freedom amidst the formation of the new nation. The gallery is anchored by the 35 panel Virginia Baptist History Mural by American artist Sydney E. King, and features numerous artifacts that reflect the Virginia Baptist story.
Individuals
Individuals are welcome to visit the gallery for self-guided tours whenever VBHS is open. Be sure to check for any unexpected closures before you arrive. Take your time, read all you like, and kindly be mindful of researchers who may be sharing the space.
Groups
Group tours are scheduled in advance and a guide is provided by VBHS. We are delighted to provide this opportunity for classes, churches and other groups. As the gallery is of limited size, groups of 15 or more larger groups require additional arrangements. Contact us for further information.
